Introduction:
This is our An bang 7th conference/ summer camp 2021. This is the moment where all Anbangers will reconnect with others around other states in the US. It is also purposely organized for us to be able to have the experience to learn something that will benefit your life.
Saturday, July 17, 2021 ( Day 1)
We first welcomed our Anbangers as they arrived at Tu Vien Huong Hai Temple. Our Anbangers would then come to the registration desk to check in and receive any camp resources or items needed for the entire camp. We would then gather together to have our 1st camp dinner with all Anbangers. After dinner, we gathered in the meditation hall to have a brief orientation and became closely acquainted with the other peers within the Anbang Family. Many of our AnBangers have said that when first meeting all of their fellow AnBangers again it felt refreshing and quite nice. Due to the pandemic, there were many precautions that were placed causing there to be a limited amount of temple events, so many of our AnBangers weren’t able to meet face to face again until this event. Being so, this event allowed many AnBangers to reconnect as well as meet other AnBangers from different parts of Florida and different states at this event.
Sunday, July 18, 2021 ( Day 2)
The second day of our An Bang retreat with our Anbangers. A day filled with many activities and joy. We first started the day off with a relaxing morning meditation. Afterward, everyone lined up to grab their breakfast. Following this was the dharma talk which was split up into two groups, the children’s and the adults. As for the children’s dharma talk, the Nuns spoke about the rules or changes we should make in our life that could lead us to become happier. For instance, we should stop complaining rather than enjoy the little things in life. From then on, we were asked to make a group of 10 and play little icebreaker games so we could acquaint ourselves with one another. As for the adult’s dharma talk …. We will then gather together to have a camp lunch. After lunch, All kids would have outdoor activities like volleyball, badminton, water balloon, and so much more. Dinner was provided around 5:30 pm for all campers and camp organizers. As we approached 6 pm, all the performers gathered together to prepare for the performances at 7:30 pm. Following this performance, we had people that would sing songs for our Anbangers.
Monday, July 19, 2021 (Day 3)
This was the last day of our An bang retreat with our Anbangers. It was a very great time getting together as a big group and meeting others across the country. Planning activities separated by age groups is a really good thing to have when having a camp like this because it would give our young children and teens something to do during this camp and it could also help them in their future life.
I really hope everyone that came to this 3-day camp learned something new and thought that this camp really helped them. We hope to see you again at our next An Bang Summer camp.
